s Blender artists and CG artists in general, we should not only be constrained by our tools of trade and the community supporting it.

It always helps to get out of our haven and explore the vast space that the Internet has to offer.

And what better way than to have a daily dose of inspiration from renowned CG sites. In this post, I list my personal picks (non-Blender specific) of sites that constantly awe me; and I hope you will be too.


3DTotal
Start with an empty scene in Blender and (in Side View) add three intersecting circles (a la Venn Diagram). Make sure the rotations are applied.


2. Add a Curve
This will function as the modifying spline for the rope later. For demonstration purposes, we'll use a Bezier Curve. Make sure that the starting point matches the Circles' origin.


3. Add the Modifiers
Now this is where the fun starts. By using several modifiers on the Circles Object, you'll have a rope in your scene!


4. Deforming the Rope
The final step. Congratulations! You now have a handy rope. ;)
